Yup, not only am I supporting Peter Doherty on the 24th of this month, but I’m now supporting Dan Le Sac two days earlier in Cambridge.

So… yeah… AKA MASSIVE NEWS

So, yeah, I’m kinda supporting Peter Doherty:

It’s totally true. Peter Doherty, THE Peter Doherty, from The Libertines and Babyshambles is doing an intimate show at Nambucca, North London on Wednesday 24th October. Also playing is MC iPod, THE MC iPod, from that MC Lars tribute band.

Seriously. I know, I don’t believe it either. It IS true, though, see:

TOUR!

Yup. A (somewhat) last minute post about NEXT WEEK’S TOUR! I am actually going to tour, and it is actually going to be rad.

The players:

Rob

Rob has a car and a week off work. Rob is driving. Rob’s car has a massive sub woofer where the boot space should be.

Laura

Laura is half of Damsel and plays guitar, ukulele, melodica and provides sweet vocal harmonies. She’ll be making my songs sound better than ever.

Emma + Sophie

These two lovely gals are on their own tour the same time as mine, and will be joining us for three of the dates.

The dates:

Tuesday 11th September

The first night. We’re playing the Dunstable Arms (moved from the Social Club) in Sheringham. It’s free entry and will be amazing. Also playing is the fine local talent of Paul E Fawcett, Jim Higgs and Homeless Finger Encounter.

Wednesday 12th September

Our first night alongside Emma Hallows and Sophie Porter, and we’ll all be supporting the incredible Jeff Rowe at Karma Kafe, Norwich. It’s only £3 and will be a blast.

Thursday 13th September

The hometown show. Playing the Portland Arms in Cambridge (in the main room as the gig room is being renovated). A stacked bill of acoustic talent and myself. Sam Russo and Jason Welt head up the night, also featuring Allegra Shock and Darren Michelangelo Smith (with Emma and Sophie squeezed on at the start).

Friday 14th September

A house show in Southampton and it really will be incredible. Fact. It’s the final of our mini run alongside Emma and Sophie so I’m doubly sure it will be incredible. Ultra incredible in fact.

Saturday 15th September

The final night and I managed to blag onto an amazing gig at Nambucca in London. Random Hand, Tyrannosaurus Alan, Jakal, Tallowah and Subset are playing, and Chapter Eleven and my good self will be providing entertainment in between the bands in the bar.

The merchandise:

All good tours need merchandise. As such, I have a stack of things for you to purchase. A fresh run of “The First Five Years” CD/zines and - for the first time - a tape version too. A brand new, exclusive to this tour, EP of four mystery cover versions packaged inside a custom tote bag. A stack of keyrings. A tour poster. A tape of the Avril Lavigne live set. Lovely stuff.

So, yeah. See you next Tuesday ;)

PFC010 is almost done! Wow, we actually made it to ten releases. I half expected us to give up after 4 or 5. Looks like we’re in this for the long run!But yes, these are the 15 MC i Pod floppy disks. Each one contains the Minor Threat sampling ‘Scene of the Crime’ with the download bringing three more tracks to the table. Each disk is sprayed with shiny blood red goodness and theres other bits in there. All DIY, all done today. We’re just waiting on the badges now. They’ll go up in the store on friday to be sent out monday.Hip hop never looked so nerdy.

Back to the Future

Seriously, the Scene of the Crime EP is definitely happening. It’s all finished, I’m just waiting for the label - in this case Pornography For Cowards - to get things sorted. This is going to be released as a floppy disc with an MP3 on, plus a download code for the single and B-sides.

I’m planning my next single as well, which will also be on a crazy format. If all goes to plan, it’ll be some sort of CD-R/lathe cut vinyl hybrid. Seriously. Not sure which label is releasing this one. Maybe you? Get in touch.

With all this talk of singles, you’d think I actually had a forthcoming album in the works or something…

Time keeps slipping into the cosmic future…

Damn, it’s been over a year since I updated this. Whoops. Here’s an updated!

Gigs!

Wednesday 28th March - Karma Kafe, Norwich
PUNK ROCK STARS IN THEIR EYES feat. MC iPod & That Syncing Feeling as Avril Lavigne, Rich Halls as Andrew Jackson Jihad and more. 7.30pm. £3.

Monday 2nd April - Portland Arms, Cambridge
THE AMISTAD + MC iPod + Egos at the Door + Victory Points. 8pm. £5

That Syncing Feeling is my one-night-only full band, featuring Laura (guitar), Emily (drums) and Gyles (bass). We’ll be rad.

Music!

Richard at Pornography For Cowards is going to be releasing an MC iPod single… with a twist! It’ll be released as an MP3 file on a floppy disc. It’ll also come with a download code for the lead track, and a bonus digital EP of demos, remixes, etc. It’s an all new song, called Scene of the Crime (Punk Rock Saved My Life) and clocks in at a staggering 56 seconds. Oh, and it samples Straight Edge by Minor Threat. It’s also rad.

See you at a show x
